Some of the measures include: There is $1.7 billion in funding for women's safety initiatives, including: 500 frontline community sector workers to increase support for women and children in crisis full implementation of the recommendations of the Australian Human Rights Commission's Respect@Work report funding for respectful relationships education legislating to provide 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave $100 million for crisis and transitional housing options for women and children fleeing domestic and family violence and older women on low incomes who are at risk of homelessness $3.1 million for the Office of Women to develop a national strategy to achieve gender equality and support the Women's Economic Equality Taskforce The government will implement gender-responsive budgeting and gender impact assessments across the whole budget, in line with a number of OECD countries, which are touted as "practical ways of embedding gender equality into the design of policy and government decision-making". $13.9m over three years to strengthen women's health in pregnancy, including support for parents and more stillbirth autopsies $5.8 million over five years to support women in science, technology, engineering and maths through the Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship program Senator Gallagher says the plan is to eventually not need a separate women's budget statement.
