TN Rains: Madras HC Questions Chennai Corporation For Failing To Take Measures, Warns Stern Action

Chennai: Madras High Court on Tuesday warned the Greater Chennai Corporation of initiating a suo moto public interest litigation petition as the residents of the city are facing issues due to the waterlogging condition after the torrential rains pound Tamil Nadu. The court further said suo moto proceeding would be initiated if the waterlogging situation doesn't come under control till Friday or Saturday. According to the report in The Hindu, Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee questioned the GCC counsel as to what the corporation authorities have done in the last five years since the city was battered due to rains in 2015.
