Luka Dončić intends to play Olympic qualifier for Slovenia after NBA Finals

BOSTON — If the knee holds up, Luka Dončić will be on the floor for Slovenia following the NBA Finals, with an Olympic bid on the line. “If it’s good, I am going to play,” said Dončić, the Dallas Mavericks superstar who is preparing for Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday night against the Celtics in Boston. His national team, Slovenia, must make it through an Olympic qualifying tournament that starts July 2, a little more than a week after a potential Game 7 of the Finals. Last summer, Dončić starred for Slovenia at the FIBA World Cup in the Philippines, averaging 27 points and leading them to the quarterfinals before an emotional loss to Canada.
