The relentless rainfall in Marathwada over the past two days has claimed 12 lives, battering Parbhani, Hingoli and Nanded districts and destroying crops across 5,08,068 hectares. The sudden and intense rain has left many areas reeling, with more than half of the revenue divisions in the region recording extreme rainfall events. AUTHORITIES ADVISE CAUTION The downpour has caused 12 lives, one each from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, Jalna, Hingoli, Beed and Latur, and several more feared dead. In Nanded district alone, 36 hours of continuous rain have left many areas submerged, with authorities forced to release water from reservoirs to manage the overflow.
