As mercury soars in Rajasthan, people reel under acute water crisis in Jaipur

Scorching heat in this blistering summer has made the lives of several people a living hell in the desert state, Rajasthan. Compounding the worries of the common man is the acute water shortage which has afflicted various parts of Rajasthan including state capital of Jaipur. May is yet to arrive this year but common people in various parts of Jaipur city are already reeling under severe water crisis. Everyday, scores of water tankers make a beeline for narrow lanes and by lanes in various localities in Jaipur as residents jostle with another to have their fill of water. There have been several protests and agitations as well to get regular water supply, but the plea of residents in various parts reeling under water crisis has fallen on deaf ears.
