Islamabad court suspends non-bailable arrest warrant against Imran Khan in Toshakhana case
The HinduA court in Pakistan on March 17, 2023 suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant against former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a corruption case till March 18, giving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief a chance to appear in a district court in Islamabad. Mr. Khan appeared before a Pakistani court seeking protective bail in nine cases, hours after another top court suspended non-bailable arrest warrants against the ousted premier till March 18. Mr. Khan, former Prime Minister, travelled to the Lahore High Court in a bulletproof vehicle to seek protective bail in nine cases. The Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, passing the order suspending the non-bailable arrest warrant on Friday, also asked police to provide 70-year-old Mr. Khan security to appear in the sessions court.
