Don't miss watching the seven-planet alignment. It won't repeat for over a decade

Stargazers around the world have a unique chance to witness a rare celestial event this week: the alignment of all seven planets in the night sky. The planets — Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune — will appear in a curved line across the sky, known as the ecliptic, which is the path the Sun traces. While five planets — Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn — will be visible to the naked eye, Uranus and Neptune will require binoculars or a telescope to spot. The best viewing times are shortly after sunset, when the sky is still light enough to see the planets but dark enough to reduce glare.
