Donald Trump's warning to Hamas on Israeli hostages in Gaza: ‘Hell to pay’

Donald Trump has issued a warning to Hamas over the immediate release of Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza. It was not immediately clear whether Donald Trump was threatening to directly involve the U.S. military in Israel’s ongoing campaign against Hamas in Gaza. While the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office declined comment on the statement, president Isaac Herzog welcomed Trump's comments in a social media post of his own. Trump’s threat came hours after the Israeli government confirmed the death of Omer Neutra, a dual US--Israeli citizen, whose body is still believed to be held by Hamas in Gaza, according to the Israeli government.
