A two-day national seminar on “Empowering Communities through Libraries for Sustainable Social Change” was organised jointly by the Academic Library Association and the Kerala Medical Librarians Association here on Monday and Tuesday. Creative engagement of people is an ideal solution to curb anti-social elements in society and reading is the most creative habit that needs to be developed among the people, K.S. Anil, Vice-Chancellor, Kerala Veterinary University, said while inaugurating the Indian Council of Social Science Research Kannan C.S. Warrier, Director, Kerala Forest Research Institute, spoke about the importance of reading, writing and involvement in arts to strengthen the scientific and social fabric of society.
