Tantransco told to focus on enhancing power transfer capability from other States

Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited has been told to focus on limiting transmission constraints and take measures to enhance the power transfer capability from other States to Tamil Nadu through Inter-State Transmission lines. At a recent meeting to discuss grid related issues in the State, Southern Regional Load Despatch Centre pointed out Tamil Nadu’s Available Transfer Capability 13,700 MW. The Power transfer capability from other States to Tamil Nadu by Inter-State Transmission lines is termed as ATC. The Available Transfer Capability from other States to Tamil Nadu as on April 2021 was 8,200 MW and it was increased to 10,900 MW from 01.06.2024, as per State’s Energy Department’s policy note for 2024-2025.
