BJP releases list of 48 candidates, CM Manik Saha to contest from Town Bordowali
India TodayThe Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released a list of 48 candidates for the 60 assembly seats in the state for the upcoming Tripura elections. Party leaders Anil Baluni and Sambit Patra on Saturday announced the BJP’s candidates for the Tripura assembly polls at a press conference in the party headquarters. BJP's Central Election Committee, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP chief JP Nadda met at the party headquarters on Friday to finalise the names of the candidates for the upcoming Tripura Assembly polls. However, facing growing resentment over his leadership, the BJP changed the CM's face in Tripura, handing over the mantle to Manik Saha, while Deb was given a Rajya Sabha berth.
