NFL suspends Cardinals WR Zay Jones for 5 games

New York Times

Arizona Cardinals receiver Zay Jones has been suspended for the first five games of the 2024 season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, the league announced Friday. Before Friday’s suspension was announced, coach Jonathan Gannon called Jones “a huge asset” in his media session with reporters. Gannon said Friday that Arizona’s younger receivers look to see how Jones conducts himself. Jones’ absence may not alter that outlook — he’s eligible for reinstatement on Oct. 7 following Arizona’s Week 5 game against the 49ers — but it could be a problem if the Cardinals lose anyone else.
