Mock drill tests emergency preparedness at Vizag airport

A flurry of activity was witnessed at Visakhapatnam International Airport on Wednesday morning as special teams were busy rescuing people trapped in the terminal building to safety during a mock drill organised to test the preparedness for emergency situations. The mock drill was organised under the aegis of the NDRF, SDRF, Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, Airports Authority of India in association with other departments. The mock drill lasted for around 45 minutes. APSDMA Director Ronanki Kurmanath said that all operations that would be undertaken during emergency situations were practised during the mock drill.
