Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said that the government is launching the Bhu Bharathi Act, 2024 keeping its promise to dump Dharani during the elections. He alleged BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao had sought votes from people in the name of Dharani and had turned it into a referendum on the issue. After the 2020 Act was passed, registrations were stopped for four months of non-agri land and agricultural land for two months,” the minister said. Earlier members such as T. Harish Rao, Akbaruddin Owaisi, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and Palvai Harish Babu citing rules sought time for studying the Bill.
