Pune crash: Porsche had no defect, technical issue, say company officials
India TodayThe Porsche Taycan, which the Pune teenager used to fatally knock down a techie couple on May 19, does not have defects or any technical issue, officials of the car company said in their report to the police. Earlier, Maharashtra transport officials said that the permanent registration of the luxury car had been pending since March because the owner of the vehicle, the accused teen's father, did not pay a fee of Rs 1,758. Maharashtra Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar told news agency PTI that the sports car involved in the deadly crash won't be allowed to register at any Regional Transport Office for 12 months as its existing temporary registration will be cancelled under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The police have also arrested the teen's grandfather and taken two doctors of Pune's Sassoon General Hospital and an employee into custody.
