MRI confirms Deshaun Watson suffered season-ending Achilles rupture in Browns loss

By Zac Jackson, Larry Holder and RJ Kraft An MRI confirmed Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture in the team’s Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced Monday. Coach Kevin Stefanski and members of the team’s medical staff were out to see Watson almost immediately and the entire Browns team surrounded Watson by the time he was helped to the cart. Stefanski did not directly answer questions about Watson’s future with the team or his level of play in 2024, instead saying Watson was dealing with a major injury and the team hopes that his surgery and recovery go well.
