The global commercial airplane fleet is expected to double by 2042, and the global aviation industry would require 2.3 million new personnel over the next 20 years, according to US aircraft manufacturer Boeing. "With domestic air travel fully recovered and international traffic near the pre-pandemic levels, demand for aviation personnel continues to increase," said Chris Broom, vice-president of commercial training solutions of Boeing Global Services. Meantime, Xiamen Airlines, a carrier based in Xiamen, Fujian province, said it plans to recruit more than 1,000 flight attendants nationwide this year, the company's largest-ever recruitment drive since the pre-pandemic period in 2019.
