Aussie Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo could be set to return to the grid this season with AlphaTauri poised to sack their struggling rookie driver Nyck de Vries. If the move materialises, it would see the Australian driver return to AlphaTauri, where he previously raced for two seasons in 2012 and 2013 before moving to Red Bull Racing. Ricciardo could make a sooner-than-expected return to the F1 grid with Red Bull-owned AlphaTauri potentially elevating the Aussie driver this June Ricciardo's immediate future depends on the form of rookie AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries, who has been given an ultimatum to perform or perish Ricciardo joined Red Bull as a reserve driver this year after a messy divorce from McLaren, meaning he also signed up as a reserve driver for AlphaTauri. Ricciardo took up a position as a reserve driver with Red Bull this season but he hasn't yet had a run in the all-conquering RB19 That is all due to change at the Silverstone Grand Prix - provided he's not racing for Alpha Tauri by then 'I'm certainly excited to drive a fast car, but also a car that maybe still feels familiar to me – it does a little bit in the sim.
