The Sahitya Akademi and the Department of English, St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, on Monday organised a literary debate on ‘New trends in diasporic literature’. Ramanunni, writer, while delivering the opening remarks, said that diasporic literature had enriched the inclusive nature of the Malayalam language. Manohar Thomas, writer and actor, elaborated on the role of social media platforms in providing a global stage for diasporic writers to share and publish their works, thereby reaching a broader audience. Nirmala, writer, spoke on how technological advancements have transformed the landscape for diasporic writers, making publishing and networking significantly easier.
