People in North America will be able to witness a total solar eclipse on April 8 as the moon completely blocks the sun. The total eclipse – which occurs when the moon completely blocks out the sun – will darken skies for a few minutes “as if it were dawn or dusk”, the US’s NASA space agency explains.
