Coaching change can’t cover up the truth: The Bears are a mess

New York Times

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Name it — anything, really — and the Chicago Bears probably need it. And they might need a new general manager and team president, too, if losses like the San Francisco 49ers’ 38-13 spanking of the Bears at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday develop into a damning trend as the rest of the season plays out. The 49ers’ head coach seemingly said “no thanks” to the Bears with every point his team scored. This is a grown man’s business.” The good vibes and changes Bears players said Brown provided last week didn’t carry over to game day. The Bears might have looked like a team that was close against its NFC North rivals in the previous three weeks, but Shanahan’s 49ers showed everyone just how far away the Bears really are.
