Yorkshire charged by ECB after investigation into racism claims

Yorkshire County Cricket Club and a number of individuals have been charged following an investigation into racism claims made by former player Azeem Rafiq, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Wednesday, without naming the people in question. READ: England fined for slow over rate in second Test win over New Zealand "The charges arise from alleged breaches of ECB Directive 3.3 and the ECB Anti-Discrimination Code," the governing body said in a statement. An independent panel of the Cricket Discipline Commission, the body that handles disciplinary matters in the English domestic game, will hear the cases in due course. In April, Yorkshire chairman Kamlesh Patel said that the club had learnt its lessons and hoped to be a "beacon of hope" for diversity in English cricket.
