Academic year for Intermediates in Andhra to begin from April 1, instead of June 1

As part of the reforms being introduced in the Intermediate education, the academic calendar for 2025-26 is being revised. The academic year for Intermediate students will begin on April 1, instead of June 1, and admissions for first year will start from April 7, instead of June 1, said Minister for Human Resource Minister Nara Lokesh. Elective subjects will be introduced as second subject from the academic year 2025-26 for first year students. Curriculum revision Revised syllabus and textbooks for 14 subjects will be implemented for first year students from the academic year 2025-26. Ten per cent of the Intermediate Public Examination questions for Science and Humanities will be ‘compulsory one-mark questions’ in the form of multiple choice questions or fill-in-the-blanks, from the next academic year.
