Europa Clipper flying at a staggering speed of 1,26,000 kmph deploys instruments
Nasa’s Europa Clipper spacecraft, launched on October 14, 2024, is steadily making its way toward Jupiter's icy moon Europa. The Europa Clipper, Nasa’s largest planetary mission spacecraft to date, will arrive at Jupiter in 2030 and conduct 49 flybys of Europa starting in 2031. This story is really beginning to unfold: While zooming through space at 22 miles per second, our spacecraft has deployed its solar arrays, magnetometer boom, and now the antennas for its ice-penetrating radar instrument https://t.co/s4x0eJs0JS pic.twitter.com/WDHkVp9pZP — NASA Europa Clipper November 25, 2024 Following this, the spacecraft deployed its magnetometer boom, extending 8.5 meters. By the time Europa Clipper reaches Jupiter, it will have traversed billions of kilometers, paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries about one of the solar system’s most intriguing moons.
