Panel to look into water problems faced by apartment residents in Bengaluru
Deccan ChronicleBENGALURU: A three-member committee headed by Chief Engineer of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board will be constituted to resolve issues of residents in apartments such as high water charges among other issues faced by them. “The Committee will thoroughly review complaints of residents in apartments and offer them timely solutions,” stated Chairman of BWSSB Dr Ram Prasath Manohar after holding a series of meetings with residents of apartments over water supply issues ahead of the onset of summer season. Taking note of the confusion among apartment residents to get water connections, Ram Prasath Manohar assured to introduce a model calculator to help the residents easily estimate the connection fees for their apartments or houses and exuded confidence “The model calculator would help to simplify the entire process, ensuing greater clarity and transparency.” Regarding hassles in getting water connections, Dr Manohar felt the need to streamline the application process and it’s follow-up. The efforts of BWSSB came in for appreciation from Vice-president of Bangalore Apartment Association Satish Mallya said “The Water Board has taken significant steps to address the challenges faced by the residents in apartments in getting Cauvery water connections. Mallya lauded the Chairman of BWSSB stating “The Chairman is active and providing on-the-spot solutions to the problems faced by the residents.” Mallaya said similar meetings will be held in Bengaluru North in coming days to resolve issues faced by residents in apartments in getting Cauvery water connections.
