How voter registration surged among one key group after Biden's exit

When Kamala Harris took over the top of the Democratic presidential ticket from President Biden, Democrats saw enthusiasm skyrocket and polls with Donald Trump leading tightened, but there was another element in play: voter registrations surged. He found voter registrations that week compared to the same time period in 2020 were up nearly 192 percent nationally among young black women and up 183 percent among young hispanic women. Among black voters, the registrations increased 110 percent from four years ago, and registrations were up 262 percent among young black women and 179 percent among black women overall. There's been a surge in voter registrations among young voters, women of color and especially young women of color. Among its one million new voter registrations, 17 percent were from voters who live in the swing states likely to decide the election.
