Biden Commutes Sentences Of 37 People On Federal Death Row

Regardless of how many death sentences President Biden just commuted, by not commuting them all he has made sure that the killing will continue.” During his first term, Trump bypassed a de facto moratorium on executions, killing 13 people on federal death row in a historic spree. Death penalty abolitionists are urging Biden to commute the death sentences of those he has left on federal and military death rows before Trump assumes office again. “Every person left on the federal and military death rows is being handed over to Donald Trump for execution,” Abraham Bonowitz, who is the executive director of an organization called Death Penalty Action, told HuffPost in a statement.
