G.O. issued for expansion of Coimbatore Corporation integrating 14 local bodies
The Tamil Nadu government has issued a directive to incorporate 14 local bodies into Coimbatore Corporation, citing significant population growth and industrial expansion in the surrounding areas. 201, dated December 31, 2024, issued by the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, officially initiates the process to expand Coimbatore Corporation’s jurisdiction. Substantial commercial and industrial growth further supports their inclusion within Coimbatore Corporation’s administrative boundaries. Stakeholders, including residents and local authorities, can submit objections in writing to the Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, within six weeks of the notification’s publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
