Rohit Sharma third fastest to reach 8000 runs in ODIs

India opener Rohit Sharma on Wednesday reached yet another major milestone during the ongoing fifth and final one-day international against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. Rohit is also the joint-third fastest batsman, alongside Sourav Ganguly, to reach 8000 ODI runs. Rohit had a quite start to the five-match series against Australia this time with scores of 37, 0 and 14 in the first three games but he came into his own in the last match in which he scored 95 runs off 92 balls but his knock went in vain as Australia chased down 358 to win by 4 wickets and level the series. The last match also saw Rohit and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan bettering their own record for India's highest opening stand against Australia.
