Two farming families on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula have been left homeless after a tornado-like weather event on Australia Day ripped through their properties and destroyed their homes. "We've had tin off the roof and sheds before and the little house actually copped it from another storm last year," Ms Maddern said. Cummins insurance broker David Guidera said in the past eight months the district had experienced "everything" including two large fires and other weather damage.
