J&K: Pakistan violates ceasefire in Kathua, targets civilian areas
India TodayPakistan on Friday violated ceasefire at the international border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani Rangers also resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling along the border areas. Earlier in the day, an Army jawan was killed when Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Friday, a defence spokesperson said. As the unprovoked firing from the Pakistani side continued, India raised with Pakistan the issue of targeting civilians during ceasefire violations along the LoC. The ceasefire violations and unprovoked firing have seen a spike since the repealing of special provisions of Article 370 in August, Army sources said on Friday.
