Intel Sandy Bridge-E to Continue using Core i7 Branding

Intel’s upcoming Sandy Bridge-E processors will not be called Core i8 or Core i9 as per X-bit Labs’ information. The new Extreme line of processors will continue using the Core i7 branding. There will be at least three of these new Sandy Bridge-E processors launched, two of them 6-core unlocked processors and a quad-core partly unlocked processor. The new processors will run on a new LGA2011 socket using Intel’s upcoming X79 chipset.
