Jahangirpuri violence: Petitions seek Supreme Court intervention, NIA probe
India TodayA Delhi-based lawyer has written to Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, urging him to take cognisance of the Jahangirpuri violence. The letter by Delhi-based lawyer Amritpal Singh Khalsa read: "The Delhi Police investigation so far, has been partial and communal. Khalsa sought the SC’s orders to set up a “committee headed by sitting judge of the apex court to conduct an impartial probe into the Jahangirpuri riots”. In this entire incident, seven to eight Delhi Police personnel and civilians were severely injured and private property was damaged,” Khalsa said. In a separate petition, lawyer Vineet Jindal has moved a PIL in the Supreme Court, seeking an NIA investigation into the Jahangirpuri riots to check the involvement of ISIS and other terrorist outfits.
