How to get rid of ants in your plants
ABCDo your plants look a bit more … creepy-crawly than usual? Jason Chongue, an indoor plant enthusiast who runs a Melbourne-based plant styling and curation business, says that ants often come inside during summer to get out of the heat and create nests. "Indoor plants are perfect for ants because they like to burrow in the soil," he says. So, if you've found ants, Mr Chongue says it's worth checking out the plant for scale too. But Mr Chongue says there's actually a much more simple solution: "The method that has worked best for me is actually just soaking the plants in soapy water."
