Taking a jibe at the BJP government, Gandhi said in 2014 promised to bring back black money from Swiss banks and deposit Rs 15 lakh in each Indians bank account. Thereafter, 2016 the government claimed that the demonetization announcement would cure black money; and now after there is a 50% increase in country’s black money deposits, the government is claiming that all the money in Swiss banks is white and not black.As per the latest data, Money deposited by Indians in Swiss banks rose over 50% to Rs 7,000 crore in 2017.As per the latest data, the Indian money in Swiss banks included CHF464 million in the form of customer deposits, CHF152 million through other banks and CHF383 million as ‘other liabilities’ such as securities at the end of 2017.
