Bustling street fairs in Zhangjiagang

China Daily

Local residents shop at a street fair in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Jiangsu. The first and 15th days of every lunar month are when people flock to the market at Changfeng village, Daxin town, Zhangjiagang. As the Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan 22 this year, approaches, many festive supplies including Spring Festival couplets are on sale. The street fair has a history of more than 200 years and was originally a temple fair held by the Shuangxing Temple.
