
Freedom of information application knocked back by SA Water about Billy Lights Point desal plant decision
ABCA former independent senator has vowed to continue a transparency quest into SA Water's decision to build a desalination plant on the Eyre Peninsula despite his freedom of information request getting knocked back. Key points: Former senator Rex Patrick has had a freedom of information quest knocked back by SA Water His application requested more information into the company's decision to locate a desalination plant at Billy Lights Point on the Eyre Peninsula Mr Patrick said he would not back down in accessing the information Rex Patrick said SA Water acted in "bad faith" after his FOI request, which was lodged more than 130 days ago, was declined this week. His application requested the final report of the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant Site Selection Committee, and related correspondence from SA Water officials in regard to the desalination plant site decision via email. His requests were related to SA Water's decision to build a desalination plant at Billy Lights Point, about 6 kilometres south-east of Port Lincoln.
