Kerala relaxes Covid curbs, weekend lockdown only on Sundays
India TodayThe Kerala Government in its new order on Wednesday relaxed Covid curbs and said weekend lockdown will only be imposed on Sundays. Health Minister Veena George said there could be triple lockdowns in areas where positivity is 10 per 1,000 of the population. "Only persons who have taken at least one dose of the Covid vaccine before two weeks, or who are in possession of RT-PCR negative certificate taken 72 hours before or who is in possession of Covid-19 positive results more than a month old will be allowed inside in shops, markets, banks, public and private offices, financial institutions, factories, industrial establishments, open tourist spaces and other establishments. Referring to ICMR's recent sero-survey, Veena George said 56 per cent of the state's population has not been infected, which is why daily new cases are likely to remain higher in Kerala compared to other states.
