Bomb threat sparks panic at Thiruvananthapuram Collectorate, leading to unlikely bee attack

A bomb threat triggered panic at the Thiruvananthapuram Collectorate on Tuesday, sending police into a frenzy before it was declared a hoax. Although the search yielded no suspicious objects, it triggered a severe bee attack that sent people running for cover. The bee attack affected government officials, police personnel, journalists and individuals who had come to the Collectorate for various purposes. Official sources said 79 people were stung in all, with 72 hospitalised at the Peroorkada District Hospital and seven referred to the Government Medical College Hospital with considerable injuries.
