PAN 2.0: Get your e-PAN in your inbox—no hassle, just smarter!

Under the new PAN 2.0 project, existing PAN cards will remain valid, and users will automatically receive an electronic version of their card via email without needing to apply. Existing PAN holders can update or correct details like their name, date of birth, email, mobile number, or address free of charge after the PAN 2.0 project launches. The government plans to make PAN the common business identifier for digital systems across specified government agencies, as outlined in the Union Budget 2023. The initiative also aims to curb instances of individuals holding multiple PAN cards, ensuring better compliance with the law.
