Op IndiaHearing a petition on the issue of formation of the government by the BJP in Maharashtra, the Supreme Court on Sunday has asked the Centre to produce supporting documents given to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by NCP MLAs to form government in the state. Referring to Maharashtra governor’s move to invite the BJP to form government early morning on Saturday as ‘malafide’, Sibal said, “When somebody had announced at 7 pm that we are forming the government, the act of Governor is biased, malafide, contrary to all laws established by this Court.” Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi said in a situation like this, the Governor must satisfy himself with a written document which bears signatures. “The Governor should Sibal was appearing for Shiv Sena in the apex court on the joint plea filed by the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress against the Governor’s decision to invite Devendra Fadnavis to form the government.
