Additionally, individuals who experience silent heart attacks often have underlying risk factors for heart disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. Certain health conditions, such as chronic kidney disease, peripheral artery disease, or a history of stroke, can increase the risk of silent heart attacks. Diabetes is a significant risk factor for heart disease, and individuals with diabetes have a higher likelihood of developing cardiovascular complications, including silent heart attacks.
