This week, he and his wife Edna closed the doors at Longreach's Star Cinema after 33 years of operation, leaving the central west Queensland hub without a movie theatre. "The cinema has been a part of my entire life," said local movie critic Hamish Hart, 24. Ten years later, the couple decided to buy the Roxy Theatre in Longreach, before Mr Salsbury's accountant suggested building "a nice, new modern theatre".
