Telangana Chief Minister to deliver on two key poll promises next week
India TodayTelangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently announced the implementation of two major poll promises made by the ruling Congress party - 'Gruha Jyothi' and 'Rs 500 Cooking Gas Cylinder' schemes - next week. Addressing a public gathering in Kodangal, his Assembly constituency, Reddy revealed that within a week, LPG cylinders will be supplied to women at a subsidised rate of Rs 500, and 200 units of free electricity will be provided to the economically weaker sections. Highlighting the progress made by his administration, the Chief Minister mentioned the successful initiation of free travel for women on state-run RTC buses and the launch of a health scheme offering Rs 10 lakh coverage for the underprivileged, as part of the six guarantees pledged by the Congress. He specifically targeted former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for not fulfilling promises related to the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project despite a hefty investment of Rs 27,000 crore.
