Search continues for missing plane VH-MDX which disappeared over Barrington Tops National Park more than 40 years ago

When it comes to solving Australia's greatest aviation mystery, Glenn Horrocks is a man obsessed. "It vanished Bermuda Triangle-style," Mr Horrocks said of the single-engine aircraft better known by its registered letters, VH-MDX. "I did my first search for VH-MDX in 1994 and I've been going up to Barrington Tops regularly ever since," he said. Mr Horrocks has coordinated SES search teams "every couple of years earlier on, but now it's a couple of times a year". "Both New South Wales and ACT have a lot of search and rescue resources, and they regularly help out in the Barrington Tops region to look for the VH-MDX aircraft," Mr Horrocks said.
