Eight people have been rescued after being caught in floodwaters on southern Queensland's Darling Downs. Police say a family was pulled out of a flooded creek after a car was swept away near Tara, north-west of Toowoomba, about 1:00am. Meanwhile a 48-year-old man also escaped injury after his car got stuck in floodwaters near Oakey, west of Toowoomba, just after 11:00pm last night. In another incident, two State Emergency Service volunteers had to be rescued from a flooded creek in the Lockyer Valley last night after their boat capsized.
