Bihar: Man Arrested From Jamui For Sharing Fake Videos Of Migrants Being Attacked In Tamil Nadu

A man was arrested on Monday from the Jamui district of Bihar for allegedly sharing fake videos on social media of alleged attacks on migrant workers from the state of Tamil Nadu, said police, reported news agency PTI. According to the statement, "An investigation by the EOU has revealed that the accused were indulging in spreading fake videos of migrants being killed and beaten up in Tamil Nadu on social media." According to the police, thirty of these videos were widely circulated on social media, prompting panicked migrant workers from Bihar to flee Tamil Nadu. M K Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, reassured his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar on Saturday that all migrant workers are safe.
