2-year-old leopard crushed to death by truck in Yamunanagar
Hindustan TimesA two-year-old leopard has died in a road accident in Yamunangar, officials of Kalesar National Park in the district said on Monday. Villagers living near the Kalesar forest range said leopards often come out of the dense forest to drink water or for preying on other animals along the banks of Yamuna. The leopard was crushed to death by an unknown truck driver on the national highway 907 on Saturday at around 8.15 pm near the rest house of the Kalesar park forest range. The NH-907, which starts from Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh and ends at Yamunanagar, passes through the Kalesar forest range along the banks of the Yamuna river. As the animal died due to a road accident, no case was registered in this regard.” Villagers living near the Kalesar forest range said leopards often come out of the dense forest to drink water or for preying on other animals along the banks of Yamuna.
