Education Shocker: 77% contractual teachers in Delhi schools fail to pass basic recruitment test

The Delhi Subordinate Selection Board in a response to Delhi High Court's affidavit has submitted that a staggering 77 percent of ad-hoc teachers of Delhi government schools have failed to secure minimum passing marks for permanent recruitment as teachers and its additional staff. The affidavit submitted to Delhi HC, DSSB declared that between July to Nov 2018 it conducted exams to fill: 9556 vacancies in Government schools in which 7.5 lakh candidates took the test 5906 vacancies in municipal corporation schools for which there were 1.15 lakh applicants But the DSSB mentioned that the results of the test were beyond satisfactory and termed it sub-standard. 21,135 guest teachers who gave the test for various sanctioned posts, 16,383 failed to get the minimum pass marks showing the dismal state of affairs.
