Congress accuses Maharashtra CM Fadnavis of suppressing Beed, Parbhani cases
The HinduThe Congress on Thursday accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of suppressing Beed and Parbhani cases, even as NCP Minister Dhananjay Munde met the Chief Minister over the Beed issue in Mumbai. The alleged murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh from Massajog village in Kaiz district of Maharashtra triggered political uproar in the State, with the Chief Minister ordering a judicial probe into the matter and transferring the Beed district Superintendent of Police. Amid the allegations against Food and Civil Supplies Minister Mr. Munde of shielding his close aide, he met Mr. Fadnavis in Mumbai. “The Chief Minister’s meeting happened to be around the same time at the Sahyadri guest house, where the meeting of my department took place, that is why we met,” Mr. Munde said.
